When you share.... [23 Oct 2009|09:03pm]
[ mood | melancholy ]
[ music | Ateneo Chamber Singers - Aba Ginoong Maria ]

... your happiness, it doubles.
... your grief, it halves.

Ipanalangin mo kaming makasalanan
Ngayon at kung kami'y mamamatay.
Amen

Or does Tioman Island look rather phallic?
Comes complete with corona around the glans, and urethral meatus.
And a rather large ballsac scrotum.

Heh. Pardon my lack of scientific objectivity. Ballsac was purely a slip of the tongue finger

Re: AWARE saga [26 Apr 2009|03:21pm]
Change should not come by brute force.
Change should come by collective agreement.
If the new guard wishes for change, it should not have been like this.

God gave humans the right to choose for themselves, regardless of whether it is for their own good or not.
God gave Adam the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He told Adam and Eve not to partake of it, but he didnt make it impossible to partake... in other words, He did force His Will upon them. The new exco is no greater than God, therefore they shouldn't do what God didn't do.

By staging the coup and trying to change what AWARE stands for.... are they going to change the stance of the old guard with regards to what they believe in? They would resent the new guard for forcing their beliefs onto what AWARE stood for. They could simply just leave and form their own group, bringing like minded AWARE members with them.... thanks to the coup, the old guard now has an identity.

It was wrong of the new guard to blatantly exclude the old guard in whatever decision making processes that took place. After all, the supposed aim of both the old guard and the new is for the betterment of women, right? There is common ground for everyone to work together,

Religious afflilation should NEVER be brought in to a SECULAR organisation. Your belief must remain personal. If you share your beliefs with others, it MUST remain at a personal level. It is like me hijacking the Ministry of Health to outlaw abortions in Singapore (can you imagine that??? LOL). What would the new AWARE exco do if their secular duties conflicted with their religious beliefs? One good example was that the question of sexual discrimination of a openly lesbian woman in her workplace, which was brought up by Mr Balji during the Talking Point episode last week. Another one would be for a woman who is seeking the help of AWARE because she is abused by her husband, and now wants a divorce.

Would the new AWARE exco deny this woman her rights, just because she is lesbian?
Would the new AWARE exco deny someone the help she deserves because of her presumed 'sinful' nature or action?

Many questions remain, only time will tell of the answer....

Jesus, Good Shepherd, receive this unnamed babe into Your arms. Cradle her in your love. Bless her and take her to your Father. Comfort the hearts of her parents and bring them peace and consolation. May she live forever with you in heaven. Amen.

A season for transformation [04 Mar 2009|11:02am]
I believe its been a while since I last posted
Few things have happened in the mean time.
Nothing much to talk about actually

Changed housemate
Got my airconditioning installed
Redid the living room layout
All mattresses and upholstery cleaned by professionals
Got the Mio Home package (since my place is bloody old and has got no cable connection)
Curtains for some windows
Weight gain ++ :(
Got into a habit of changing workplaces (not by choice, but by order)
Cleared loads of junk over the past couple of months

Now all i need to do is get my kitchen in order and start cooking (as i have always been wanting to do, but have been procrastinating about)
Work in progress.... time to get my life in order.

Cold snap... Hit us, we pray.... too hot here in Singapore for my liking [14 Jan 2009|11:25am]

On Tuesday, most parts of north and northeast saw temperatures below 14 deg C coupled with strong winds, with a mountain in northern Chiang Mai provinces recording a temperature of 4 deg C. -- PHOTO: HANDOUT

BANGKOK - A SEVERE cold snap in Thailand prompted authorities on Tuesday to declare an emergency zone across more than half of the country normally renowned for its tropical weather, climate officials said.

Local media have reported up to five deaths as a result of exposure to unusually cold conditions but the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department said they were still verifying the reports.

As temperatures fell to 4 deg C in some parts, officials said 42 of 76 provinces, mostly in the north and northeast, will get a special budget to provide blankets and warm clothing.

The Meteorological Department said the temperature in Bangkok fell to 15 deg C on Monday - cold for the capital, but still far off its record low of 11 deg C recorded in 1974.

'Because the high pressure from China keeps coming, the cold weather will stay in Bangkok at least until this weekend,' a meteorological official said.

On Tuesday, most parts of north and northeast saw temperatures below 14 deg C coupled with strong winds, with a mountain in northern Chiang Mai provinces recording a temperature of 4 deg C.

In Bangkok, commuters and residents used to the heat, sun and humidity for which Thailand is famous have wrapped up in scarves and jackets in recent days. -- AFP

Your result for The Perception Personality Image Test...

NBPS - The Idealist

You perceive the world with particular attention to nature. You focus on the hidden treasures of life (the background) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the shapes around you. Because of the value you place on nature, you tend to find comfort in more subdued settings and find energy in solitude. You like to ponder ideas and imagine the many possibilities of your life without worrying about the details or specifics. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You prefer a structured environment within which to live and you like things to be predictable.
