Unicornis captivatur Aule regum presentatur Venatorum laqueo, Palo serpens est levatus, Meidcatur sauciatus Veneno vipereo
Alleluia canite, Agno morienti, Alleluia pangite, Alleluia promite Leoni vincenti.
Pelicano vulnerato Vita redit pro peccato Nece stratis misera, Phos fenicis est exusta, Concremanturque vetusta Macrocosmi scelera. Alleluia canite…
Idrus intrat crocodillum, Extis privat, necat illum, Vivus inde rediens; Tris diebus dormitavit Leo, quem resuscitavit Basileus rugiens. Alleluia canite…
Very unusual text for Latin Sacred text.... certainly not the "shove religion down the throat" type. Very story telling type, with unicorns, hydras, crocodiles and vipers. There's even a pelican and phoenix. If not for the lion, lamb and alleluia this text would not be sacred at all :D
In terms of the music, I don't know if the tune is from the original medieval codex (i doubt it) , but there is some attempt to incorporate the medieval sound into the modern composition. Certainly an interesting juxtaposition.
As someone just commented, very Harry Potter.
